BASEBALL
KC Royals 5 Colorado 0
Jarrod Dyson's two run single highlighted a four run eighth inning as the Royals took care of the Rockies Wednesday afternoon in Arizona. Zack Greinke threw three scoreless innings in his second spring start - he hasn't allowed a run so far in six innings. The Royals are now 4-2. They'll face the Dodgers this afternoon at 2:05 in Surprise.

COLLEGE
Kansas 15 Tabor 0
Jimmy Waters' grand slam capped off a seven run second as the Jayhawks routed the NAIA team Wednesday in Lawrence. Alex DeLeon added a three run shot and Jason Brunansky and Brian Heere each hit solo homers. Six KU pitchers combined on a six hitter with Thomas Taylor pitching the first three innings for his first win. The Jayhawks will find the competition a little tougher Friday when they travel to LSU for a weekend series.

Washburn vs. Upper Iowa, cancelled, unplayable conditions

Washburn has delayed its series with Truman State to Sunday and Monday at Falley Field. The teams were originally scheduled to play in Kirksville but the games were moved to Topeka because of bad field conditions, and the games had been set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will now play doubleheaders both Sunday and Monday, as precipitation
remains in the forecast through at least Friday.

FOOTBALL
NFL
The Chiefs signed free agent running back Thomas Jones to a deal Tuesday. Jones was released last week by the New York Jets after rushing for 1402 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, one where the Jets went to the AFC Championship game before losing to Indianapolis. He'll provide a veteran presence and insurance to new Chiefs star Jamaal Charles, who ran for over 1100 yards last year, mostly in the second half of the season after taking over as the starter.
